This book is one of the most important one published on histology of the human body (which is a part of biology and medicine that studies biological tissue). It was published for the first time in 1852 whith the title "Handbuch der Gewebelehre des Menschen".
Kölliker (1817-1905) highlights the differences between smooth and striated muscles.
